Our World Studies curriculum at Key Stage 3 develops pupils’ curiosity and confidence across Science, Computing, and Humanities, building essential skills each year through practical learning, research, and exploration.

Year 7 – Foundations for Discovery
​
Pupils begin by exploring the world around them through hands-on science, digital literacy, and historical and geographical awareness.

Science: Building simple circuits, classifying materials, observing natural phenomena, and learning lab safety.

Computing: Researching and presenting ideas safely using digital tools.

Humanities: Investigating key historical events (WWII, Ancient Egypt, Great Fire of London), basic geography, and local fieldwork.
Year 8 – Expanding Knowledge and Application
Pupils deepen their understanding through investigation, creativity, and real-world links.

Science: Conducting practical experiments, recording data, and exploring forces, temperature, and sound.

Computing: Developing digital projects, including programming, photography, and presentations.

Humanities: Studying history through themes such as Kings and Queens and global issues like sustainability, supported by local trips.
