Careers and Independence
‘Learning for Life’ aims to prepare our students for life in, outside, and beyond Quorn Hall School.
Starting in Key Stage 3, ‘Learning for Life’ will play a key part in enriching our pupils knowledge and understanding and will complement their lessons across the school. Teaching and learning will be underpinned by ASDAN’s Personal and Social Development qualification and will include units on healthy living and personal safety in the home & community.
The Personal and Social Development (PSD) qualification offers imaginative ways of supporting our young people in:

becoming confident individuals who are physically, emotionally and socially healthy

being responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society and embrace change

managing risk together with their own wellbeing
As well as introducing them to new activities and personal challenges, ‘Learning for Life’ aims to make academic learning fun and relevant to real-life situations.
Over the academic year we will spend time in the classroom, food tech practical room and off-site learning in the community.
